Like an unexpected cameo appearance, âSo Into Youâ popped into Gigi Marieâs head while watching an episode of Columbo. Although she doesnât remember what exactly the episode was about, she remembers being inspired by the idea of stepping inside a character overcome by their own wild obsessions and passions.
Gigi muses, âOk, I love 70âs and 80âs Columbo â the sets, the costumes, the melodrama, the basset hound â everything! Itâs like a Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, but with a cigar smoking slightly scattered homicide detective who drives a beat up Studebaker and seems to own only one outfit: shirt always wrinkled, tie always a little loose and lopsided, and overcoat just a little too large for his frame. And every now and then, this Beverly Hills homicide detective (or his never-seen âwifeâ) would be a little star struck and entranced by the person who committed the crime. But only to a point. He always snapped back to the reality of what the person did, and he could always look past the glamorous trappings to see the monstrous action. I guess itâs that notion of being into something or someone so much, and trying desperately to snap yourself back into the reality of a situation before itâs too late and you become just another victim to a heinous crime of the heart, ya know? No one likes to be the fool in love, but sometimes we just have to be, and there is so much allure in the intoxication of being powerless to another person. Youâd do anything for them. Maybe.â
